Whole Foods supports healthy foods and makes a lot of money because of it, as people consider their foods are totally healthy.
However, it seems that the canola oil used on their in-house foods is not as healthy as we considered.
Whole Food was a component of the promotion of the GMO- Dark Act, a measure used to wrap up the real story.
The Vermonters’ GMO labeling law came into effect in July, but since it doesn’t carry out the barcode system, it requires genuine force and efficiency, and might even permit the pass of GMO foods.
Consequently, the canola oils used in the in-house prepared foods of Whole Foods is GMO.
There isn’t such thing as canola plant or seed, but it is a creation of the rapeseed plant seed that produces a great quantity of oil. Its use is mostly industrial, so it is not tolerable for human consumption.
This oil encloses erucic acid which leads to fat build up in the muscles of the heart of humans and animals. So far, it is not an issue these days as it is removed from the existing plant seed versions due to the hybrid breeding.
The harmful consequences of canola oil on the health are because of its processing.
In fact, a lot of foods which enclose canola oil are GMO as even 80-90% of Canola comes from rapeseed seeds treated with Roundup Ready, which is a heavy glyphosate pesticide.
Canola actually stands for Canadian Oil. This state has a great figure of rapeseed plants and the name of the oil was changed order to motivate the farmers to start growing it.
CAN is placed for Canada and OLA for factors of the oil and the small level of erucic acid.
This oil is being partly hydrogenated and treated with very high heat to have an extended shelf-life.
Nevertheless, this is not tagged on the packages, because the FDA gave a permit processed food producer to label it as “no trans-fats”. Plus, they also state that a 5 gr. of Trans fats per serving is equal as 0 gr.
Additionally, the oil is as well chemically deodorized with hexane and bleaching during the process of high heating, and oils that have been extremely processed are inflammatory.
Paradoxically, even though the animal testing’s on this oil showed horrifying findings, the Canadian government and the Canola Industry paid 50 million dollars to the FDA to be given the status GRAS or normally considered as safe.
Therefore, make sure you keep away from all products that contain canola oil and use olive oil, coconut oil, flax seed, avocado oil and other cold pressed oils instead. They are totally safe and offer abundant health benefits.
