Serious illnesses are supposed to be treated with antibiotics, but there is another way to treat symptoms of coughs and colds with a 100% natural ingredient.
The answer is one simple herb, oregano.
Oregano is a herb that originates from the Mediterranean, and while it is extensively used in cooking, a lot of people don’t know of the astonishing healing properties that it has.
Benefits of Oregano:
- Wealthy in omega-3 fatty acids
- Enormous source of calcium
- Loaded with iron
- High levels of vitamin K
- High in B-vitamins, manganese, and fiber
But the most important benefit of oregano (particularly distilled oregano oil) is the microbes and pathogens it encloses that are great for treating respiratory tract illnesses.
There are numerous scientific studies which have established the benefits of oregano oil.
One study accessible at the American College of Nutrition Annual Meeting in 2001 demonstrated that a small amount of oregano oil sealed in a test tube stopped the growth of pathogens in a comparable way to standard antibiotics.
Scientists at the Greek University of Thessaloniki as well established comparable results. They discovered that oregano oil was helpful in stopping pathogenic bacteria even when it was diluted to 1/50000. The results were published in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry in an article called “Antimicrobial and Cytotoxic Activities of Origanum Essential Oils”
An additional study by Dr. Ann Draughon showed that oregano oil was capable of destroying numerous different types of bacteria such as E-coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosin, and Listeria monocytogenes.
To use oregano oil, just add 3 drops in one glass of water and consume it. Oregano essential oil is extremely potent so be cautious not to use too much. Drink it for 5 days to increase your immune system if you feel a cold coming on.
